Online Social Gaming might be a way to level up your Real Life Social Skills

 

fallout 4 will be set in the same timeframe as fallout 3, 200 years in the future, give or take a few years.  it will be set in Boston, Massachusetts, where as fallout 3 was set in Washington, D.C. a good 440 ,miles and a 7 hour car journey without the devistation of the fallout time period. giving the distance and the time the two shouldnt be too diffrent in technological advancemnt and factions, but may feature some more local factions as well as a confirmed faction called The Commonwealth Minutemen, a group of mercenaries. but more on that as infomation comes out.

 

we have seen in the trailer that our protagonist Howard lets call him (becuase i dont like spelling protagonist) has a vault very local to him, if you know anything about the fallout universe theres a good chance that you know about the vaults social experiments that went on in there over the life span of the vault. 1 man and 100 women and visa versa, some had cloning instruments and others had to sacrifice one person each year to be killed, or everyone gets killed. what is diffrent with vault 111 (the one howard is in) is yet unclear but it most likely has somthing to do with cryogenics since howard goes in the vualt in 2077 and comes back out 2277 the same man.

 

now that i have mentioned our main man Howard, he dosent have to be called howard. its not like in mass effect where you get to choose sheperds full name to be nutskratchin shperd, and everyone calls him sheperd anyway, oh no... Bethesda has reveald that we will get about 1000+ names that we can choose from, all of the most common. so chances are your name is gonna be in there unless you have a fairly un-common one. so each character that has said your name will have to have been recorded saying the same line 1000 times with a diffrent line each time.

 

lets talk about platforms and specs and such. the technical side of the game. Fallout 4 Will Run 1080p/30fps on PS4, Xbox One, "PC Not Limited in Any Way" according to bethesda. now, although this is an absolute god send of the pc players, not everyone can afford a high end PC, but still want to see the game in all its beauty, and some people are quite mad that its only 30/fps on console and not 60fps. or as many as it can do. ah fuck it. it still works! if this is what the devs beilve is best then i trust them.

 

moving swiftly onto the settlements, the game has a new feature to the fallout franchise which is base building, it works with the same materials as crafting where you can make a scope with bits you find or you can make a wall. obviously its going to take diffrent parts but you know what i mean. while the building blocks to making your settlements come in prefab corners, corridoors, doorways, windows, stairs and such the furniture is completly free to place where ever you want, there dosent seem to be any mandatory snapping in the building so you can place anything at any angle in a room you desire, WHOOP WHOOP. its only a matter of time until we see tony starks house with the iron man suits as diffrent mods of the power armour *makes a note to make that when i get the game*. on top of base building, you also have to defend this base, with automated and manned turrets alike all powerd and supplied by you. wether you far, the objects by hand, or you can get your recruited settlers to farm while you are away with dogmeat nomming mutants together. all the electrical items you use have to be hooked up to a power generator, which has to be manually wired using pylons, and... well... wires... all while you control the specifics of the electrical items through a terminal you craft and hook up to the system. nice ay? the defence i was talking about is quite important. you will be raided every so often by bandits or animals, that you have to defend against. the repocussions of not defending your settlement are yet unclear. but i can imagen your settlers being killed and alot of recources being taken. now if you dont like this whole settlement system, then you dont have to use it! not at all. you can just live out of your backpack and there is nothing forcing you to play this section of the game. (awesome)

 

WEAPONS!!! PEW PEW PEW, 50+ base guns and 700+ modifications that you can make to your weapons through items such as stocks, handles, muzzles ,sights, barrels, for grips, clips things like this, and with over 700 diffrent modifications to your gun you can make the game truly starts to become yours. very soon you will see "best rail gun setup fallout 4" all over youtube. now assuming you have played other games such as call of duty or any game that allows weapon customisation you may think that you can just add a silencer that just haves 20% noise reduction, and another longer looking one with 50% noise reduction, oh no. im talkinbg about Customisation to the level of not being the same gun anymore, from having a laser pistol and turning it into a scatter automatic laser rifle with quick ejecting clips for faster reload speeds and gyro stabled stock for better accuracy, imgaen that... it will be as if you acctually have the gun and can do anything you want to it. add a beyonet to a mini gun, sure go ahead. add a laser and scope to a shotgun, why not? add a drum mag to a RPG? go on then! okay, maybe that last one was a bit adventurous, but you get the point.

SHOULD I PRE-ORD-

let me stop you there. no in a word, but who am i to tell you what to do with your money? i think that with the way games have devloped over the years where a devloper can update all coppies of the game any time they want, they have gotten very lazy with making sure the game works, and just letting the customers do it for them, for free. id say wait for everyone to beta test it, look at youtubers and not websites such as IGN (ugh) for reviews, and wait for the trust worthy opinions to come out. my favorite atm is Mack from "Worth A Buy" he probbably wont do Fallout 4 straight away, but he may do? either way hes worth a checkout. id at least give the game 2 weeks to get its shit sorted and bethesda to release a "day one patch" that people dont get until the 8th day. (happend to me with Assassins creed unity)

 

I didnt like fallout 3, is this game for me?

most likley not, no. if you didnt like number 3, dont waste your time or money on fallout 4, there are plenty of exciting games
